The experts from Auto Trader Bikes have ridden hundreds of miles, testing every new bike on sale in the UK to pick these category winners and name the Best Bike of 2014.

The KTM 350 EXC-F marks the sweet spot of off-road motorcycles. Whether it’s for cross-country, time trials or hare and hound events, it works impeccably. The four-stroke engine has super-smooth fueling and provides just enough power with a broad torque band, helping reduce rider fatigue. It’s also seemingly indestructible and can even be made road-legal with a few tweaks.

“Few bikes could motivate me to find a reason to ride more than this. It is a superlative all-rounder”

Rob Morphet

Runner-up: Honda CRF 250X

At home on city streets and country trails alike; the CRF’s dimensions, ergonomics and low weight also make it very user friendly.

Runner-up: CCM GP450

This high spec, single-cylinder enduro is worthy of the Bolton-based off-road specialists, but it is pricey.
