BMW R nineT

The experts from Auto Trader Bikes have ridden hundreds of miles, testing every new bike on sale in the UK to pick these category winners and name the Best Bike of 2014.

The BMW R nineT offers the best balance of classic looks and modern performance. Our judges loved the fastidious detail on every component and how the air-cooled horizontal twin offered plenty of performance without losing the mechanical interaction that a lot of modern motorcycles tend to forget. The R nineT was a sellout success in 2014, and we reckon it may be a similar story in 2015.

“The R nineT may impress you with its looks but the way it rides will put a huge grin on your face, too”

Rob Morphet

Runner-up: Royal Enfield Continental GT

The most impressive café racer from RE yet, plus growth in sales is to be supported by a burgeoning UK dealer network.

Runner-up: Triumph Thruxton

Authentic looks married to a mild mannered machine. A café racer in aesthetic only, but still a wonderful way to see the world fly by.
