Triumph Street Triple Rx

The Street Triple Rx, with its quickshifter and rear seat unit from the Triumph Daytona, is an intoxicating motorcycle but it stands to remind us just how good the standard Street Triple is. The 675cc three-cylinder unit develops 105bhp and one of the greatest two-wheel soundtracks, while the faultless ergonomics, superb brakes and suspension win over anybody who rides it.

“This more exclusive Rx accentuates all those great qualities inherent in the regular Street Triple. It’s compact, light, lively and so much fun. It is the definitive supernaked.”

Runner-up: Yamaha MT-07

Regardless of category, the MT-07 remains one of the best bikes on sale for its blend of price and performance. Excellent ergonomics and a wonderfully smooth and linear power delivery also flatters the rider.

Runner-up: BMW R 1200 R

The latest version of BMW’s unsung hero swaps out telelever front suspension with more conventional upside down forks, while plush equipment levels make it the most adaptable naked of the pack. Underestimate at your peril.
